Harlow Hospital Radio won the Gold award for Station Promotion, at the HBA's National Hospital Radio awards 2011. The winning entry was our on-air trailer for last year's annual pantomime, Snow White. The promo was designed by Chairman Andy Meadows, and features the voices of many Harlow Hospital Radio members. The ceremony took place on Saturday 26th March at the Ramada Hotel in Maidstone, Kent, and saw hospital radio stations from all over the UK competing against each other. Click play to listen.

40 Hour Non Stop Broadcast

This took place in the studio between the hours of 6 am Saturday 25th September and 10 pm Sunday 26th September.
The schedule consisted of shows presented by our members. These were unique to the event, with some members bringing back shows which haven't been broadcast for many years. The schedule represented the diverse mix of music which Harlow Hospital Radio endeavours to provide patients with, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It also represented the 40 years in which Harlow Hospital Radio has been broadcasting, with many members having volunteered at the station for decades. We also had a founding member presenting over the weekend

August Bank holiday Sunday saw HHR hosting a rounders tournament in Harlow, where six teams, including HHR competed for a trophy and half of the entrance fee. On a windy and wet day HHR despite a brave attempt by its members finished well down the list.
